Android phones sweep Consumer Reports ratings, beat down the iPhone


What are the best phones on the market? Consumer Reports has an answer, and it’s an unequivocal one — those that use Android. The magazine rated phones by carrier, and in every instance Android phones came out on top. Overall, nine of the top 10 phones were Android. The magazine wouldn’t even recommend the iPhone 4 because of antenna problems.

The magazine rated the phones based on quite a few criteria, including display, voice quality, ability to navigate the phone, Web browsing, battery life, camera, and more. It then came up with an numeric ranking for each phone, and listed them by carrier. Android made a clean sweep. Here’s the breakdown:
