Amazon #Kindle – High Contrast Screen Beats the Nook

It’s the battle of the titans as the Amazon Kindle locks horns with the Nook in an epic contest that is set to change of e-reading forever.

 

Image via WikipediaAccording to the PC magazine in reviews, “Amazon has managed to increase the contrast on the Kindle in a way that sets it above the Nook”, but which product is really ahead? Readers must decide—of course make an informed decision.

In terms of features, both products lay a fierce and bold claim to superiority.  While the Amazon Kindle lays claim to a “New, High-Contrast E Ink Screen with Pearl Technology” guaranteeing “50% better contrast”, the Nook on the other hand boasts of reading as clear as on the printed page. It is interesting to note though that both products depend on the state-of-the-art E-ink display; this is therefore not likely to sell as distinguishing feature.

Another area of battle for supremacy seems to be the book storage/access capacity—
an area in which the Nook clearly leads with capacity for 2 million books against the kindle’s 750, 000. Though it was not an easy win per se as the kindle lays claim to “111 New York Times Best Sellers, plus audiobooks, periodicals and blogs.”

With a battery life of the Amazon kindle  that has been wittingly described as being able to last for a space shuttle, free 3G wireless, global 3G coverage and just  8.7 ounces and 1/3 of an inch in thinness, only users can decide on the clear winner— Kindle or Nook.
