Anger over usage-based Internet billing swells

An opposition MP will address the rising cost of accessing rich online data like live sportscasts and movies at a town hall meeting this weekend as technology watchers light up the blogosphere with complaints that new federal regulation will hurt Canadian consumers.

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission decided on Tuesday that it would allow incumbent cable Internet providers to charge smaller Internet providers who piggyback on their networks byte-by-byte.
