Denver Twestival 2011 raises over $2,000 for Earth Force

Denver Twestival, or “Twitter Festival,” on Thursday  evening raised over $2,000 for the Earth Force youth organization.  Also in force were the latest technologies in face-to-face networking, including nametags with QR codes (barcodes) and large-screen projection of tweets related to the event.

The first annual Denver gathering of Twitter enthusiasts was one of “200 international cities from Buenos Aires to Bangalore, Seattle to Seoul and Hong Kong to Honolulu”  all over the world.  Worldwide, the Twestivals raised over $476,000 for local charities.

Held at Green Spaces at 26th and Walnut, the moderate-sized gathering included chorizo sliders by Chicago Louie’s Paddy Wagon, Breckenridge Brewery beers and Leopold Bros. Distillery spirits.  Just $5 secured a drink and raffle ticket, as well as live music by The Places.
